Yep, One set = 4 pads If you need a more aggressive compound you can choose any of the other pads types. The dollar amount next to the compound type is the up charge to upgrade to that compound. Clayton OAKOS Automotive |

Do see any problems with running say the Panther+ Ax6 on the front and stock on the back until you have back pads? Or should I wait until I can put them on all four corners?

There is no problem with that at all. Quite a few of our Subaru customers run XP8 in the front and AX6 in the rear. Mixing and matching compounds front and rear should not cause any issues. Clayton OAKOS Automotive |

I have no plans to track the car and will give up a little in brake performance to drastically lessen the brake dust. No noise a must. Which would you recommend, Panther? From a friction standpoint (MU) and temp range, any idea what the stock pads are?

I would suggest the Bobcat pad if you are not going to be on the track. There are no specs for the OEM pad that I have been able to find any place. The Bobcats are going to dust less than a stock pad based on what I have seen with Bobcats on Subarus.

I would be very concerned by how much this would throw off the brake balance of the car.

The baking plates are included. Carbotech rivets as well as glues the pad material to the backing plate. The backing plates are an exact copy of the OEM pad including the cutout for the pad wear sensor. No shims are needed, these are direct replacements for the stock pads.

I have seen the "brake thread" and it concerned me until it came to light that it was only a small ceramic insert that was cracking not the piston itself. Having done three track days in my own 135 already on the stock pads I am quite impressed with BMW's stock pad choice as I still have almost 50% of the fronts left. There are no published specs for the OEM pads that I have seen so I cant answer your question about the temp ranges. That being said I cant wait for spring to arrive so I can get some XP8 pads installed to go along with my KW V3 and hit the track HARD! Clayton OAKOS Automotive |
