Steering crack and click noises

Ive seen a few threads of this, but it seems like no one had the answer. The noise is coming from below the car, but there is no visual on where its coming from. I think it may be suspension related, because it doesn't do it at higher speeds (less stress/resistance on moving parts) but will occasionally do it when turning and going over bumps. I really hope this can be a diy haha.

Have a look at the strut bearing/top mount and sway bar end links.

Noises from those components are hard to hear at speed unless it's a clunk.

Could you show a picture for reference? I'm not all that familiar with suspension

Video is private.

Strut bearing and top mount are on top of the damper. Sway bar end links connect the sway bar to the damper, little rods. If that doesn't mean anything to you then I would highly recommend taking the car to a pro or a friend who can teach you.

Its not coming from anywhere near the top of the damper. It sounds like its coming from around the general area of the control arms. Im taking it to bmw and seeing if they will diagnose it without charging me since its going in for oil.

Could be something simple like the arms needing to be loosened and retorqued at ride height.

Anyone know if after market steering racks are any good?

Good opportunity for a M3 salvage rack swap.
