Does anyone have documented proof That an oil carb can works to reduce carbon build up? I'm not saying its useless but some seem to think it doesn't do as much as advertised

I spoke to a buddy of mine that has a 335 this morning. he said his good friend works at lubrizol and they provide the oil additives for many manufactures including bmw. his buddy said by far bmw uses the best oil and it can take a lot of abuse and go for a LONG time and the major limitation is the oil filter. He also mentioned using only top tier gas is very important, I only use Shell. the combo of both along with a longer trip once in awhile and your engine will be just fine.
