Do what you want. They're just mats. If only every mod was that benign.

Coconut Fiber yarn, with vinyl edging and nibbed rubber backing.

You said it yourself... more subtle. The ///M mats didn't bring enough orange down to the carpet. The cocomats bring a touch too much, but (IMO) they're closest to what I was looking to do

I had a set of Cocomats in my Mini JCW that wore like iron and bought a more subdued (i.e. black) set for my 135 that after 3 years still looked pretty much like new. I kept those when I sold the 135 and will put them into the 1M when it arrives. These wear better and do a better job of protecting the underlying carpet than any mats I've used.

Jeez, tough crowd. They are just floor mats. It's not like you are married to them, get tired of them and move on to the next style. I am personally just getting the Weathertech floorliners(see below). But if you wanted some orange, you could just get a set of floor mats with orange piping, that would look pretty good!

One of my clients swears by these Matta, and yes, they are from eighties. But he showed me an M6 and a 325i with custom coco Matta, and they look great. My brand new BMW grey floor mats lasted about a week before a particularly not careful friend hopped in the car with dirty feet... And yeah, stained the passenger mat! With coco mats, this would not have happened. Of course if I didn't let grubby friend's ride in the car, only shiny girls, this would not have happened!
