Evolution Racewerks FMIC
So last night I just got my car back from Evolution Racewerks. They were test fitting their new N55 FMIC on the car.
Now granted I have not really given the car a chance to adapt to the change yet, but on the drive home there was definitely more power up top. Usually when I would want to accelerate past some cars on the highway I would drop the car down to 6th or 5th....but with the new FMIC there just didnt seem to be a point. The car seemed to pull effortlessly up top in 7th gear without a problem. This actually gave me the idea that if the car was pulling effortlessly up top that I should be getting better gas milage...Now usually I average about 26-27 mpg on the highway. Yesterday I reset it on the way home and was surprisingly somehow getting 29 mpg. I am curious if anyone else with a new FMIC noticed the same thing. As for the installation...the car looks completely stock surprisingly. They did have to do some cutting to make room for the new, larger FMIC however I was unable to notice the difference. I will update you in a couple days with regards to the performance. According to Fred from Evolution Racewerks it takes a couple days for the ECU to notice the lower air intake temperatures, and adjust the timing.

The cutting you cant even tell...the plastic on the bottom of the car covers it up completely. Honestly if you didnt know that there was cutting you would have no idea that it was done.
In my opinion if they do not have to cut then the FMIC is not large enough to make a difference.

Here is a Stock vs FMIC look. It is a bit more different than I thought.

Honestly I cant tell because 2 days after I got the FMIC I installed JB3...which took a bit to adjust...but now that it adjusted the car is ridiculously fast.
One thing I can say is that the temp today was 90 and my average IAT temp was sitting at 110. I was only going about 35mph though so I am sure the highway would bring that number down even more.
