Help identify fluid leak.

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the 135i, and this car is great. However, today I noticed a puddle of fluid passenger side, right under the headlight. I wiped it up and, left a white paper towel under their and the fluid appears to be orange. It has a very faint chemical smell.

I have a hunch that it is windshield wiper fluid, but I believe the reservoir sits behind the passenger fender. Its also really close to the radiator, so that throws me into confusion. Also AC water, is possible, but I searched and people say it should be leaking from under the passenger seat area.

I called up the seller, and he mentioned that he put green washer fluid not too long ago.

The only orange fluids I know out there is Rain-X.

Any idea?

You have headlight washers, that is where it is leaking.

Did you recently fill the reservoir tank?

A few weeks ago I filled mine when it got extremely low. I filled it to brim and the next day I had a small puddle on the drivers side in front of the headlight washer.

I ended up taking the bumper off and found no leaks or hoses ripped. Tested the system a few times and no leaks and still no leaks yet after a few weeks. Not sure if air/pressure built up in the hoses from filling and needed to escape somewhere.

Like I said still no problems yet on my end after my little leak.

I filled it up last night, with blue fluid, checked the leak this morning it was still orange. Not sure if I just flushed out the old fluid.
