What springs do I have
I have an 08 135i that the dealer says they installed BMW Performance springs on when it was new. They are black and are definately stiffer than the stock sport springs. The only writing I can find on them is a tag that has D6 written on it in the front and the rears have an L3 painted on them.

Not all are yellow. I seem to remember (another post) that some early cars had black springs.

The installed them on the car before the car was ever sold and it's an 08 model. I bought the car used from the same dealership after the 1st owner traded it in. They can't tell me much except it was outfitted with BMW Performance Exhaust, steering wheel, carbon fiber gear, wheels and springs. I assume they are but after seeing all the BMW performance springs are yellow did they used to come in black or do I have M3 springs or something.

D6 and L3 are the standard M-sport springs. This is confirmed on turner motorsports page. http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-16...kage-used.aspx |

I wish somebody at the dealership knew exactly what was done. One one page it showed the BMW performance springs of 1/4 inch lower in the details and on another page I have a sheet showing retrofit front suspension for about 1300 bucks. I'm at a loss of what they could have done to the suspension then, its definitely firmer than any of the other 135 and 335's I'd driven with the sport package but I don't see anything special about the front parts.

Maybe your car has upgraded shocks and struts in combination with M-sport springs. Not bad at all if that's the case. I found the stock damping was weak and quite disappointing.
