Arrow Linear springs for Bilstein B14/16

Hello,

Interested to see what lengths and rates others have used with their PSS/PSS9/PSS10 coilovers; also if they were revalved or not.

An example of a kit to do the conversion can be found here: http://www.hpashop.com/Bilstein-PSS9...rsion-PSS9.htm

Input welcomed.

R.

Thank you to Harold @ HPA and Orb for their guidance throughout this process.

I ended up with Swift 60mm springs and thrust sheets, Vorshlag plates and HPA adjustable end links.
Front spring has clearance issue on standard wheel with a 225/40/18 when lower than 333mm eye-brow height. I tried the 'ideal' spring rather than the 'known to improve clearance'.

I bought:
392 lbs/in, 8" length, 60mm ID Swift Spring from HPA
672 lbs/in, 9" length, 60mm ID Swift Spring from HPA

I suggest
392 lbs/in, 7" length, 60mm ID Swift Spring from HPA
672 lbs/in, 9" length, 60mm ID Swift Spring from HPA

For reference, B14 PSS ship with:
400 lbs/in, 8.25" length
630 lbs/in, 9.85" length

Benefits:
Ride quality, response, 'handling', unsprung weight.

What's next?
Watch the clearance, align and get some 1M sway bars.

With your spring upgrade, were you able to re-use the spring isolation pad between the rear arm and the bottom of the spring?
If not using the isolation pad, will it cause any noise?

I didn't try as I deemed it mangled. I had ordered the Vorshlag 60mm piece but unfortunately it doesn't fit our arms (also isn't specified as such on the website). I am awaiting their response.

I have fitted a Swift thrust sheet and haven't had noise from the rear end. I may fit a helper spring at some point.

Fitted the 7" front spring in the place of the 8" spring. Improved front end ride quality, perhaps improved grip on poor surfaces.
The preload was masking the weak OEM swaybars, but the improved compliance more than makes up for this on our crappy roads.
Front tyre clearance has improved.
I am running around 318mm eyebrow heights at the moment (down from 325mm, oops). I like it at this height.

In short- Harold has given great guidance on rates and lengths and I recommend it to anyone who is running progressive springs.

Hey Ryan, is this still recommended?
