^^^Upgraded interior with alcantara carbon fiber accents (console, trim, etc.), CSL wheels, upgraded body kit, better brakes.
I own an M3 but I would buy a 1 M CSL over a new M3. |

The more I read about the 1M, the more excited I get about it. But at the end of the day, I have an e92 M3 with everything I wanted (except ZCP which wasn't released in 2008 when I ordered). That car should satisfy me, right? Then why do I keep contemplating a 1M replacement?

I'll translate Scott26's post: "1M CSL is absolutely going to happen"
Don't hold your breath if you live in North America though. How many times have these uber special editions become available for sale to US or Canadian customers now? Precisely 0 times. Love to be wrong this time, but I doubt I will be. |

Fair enough if it is a stripped out racer, ultra lightweight etc, that's not what i want. I want a comfortable daily driver. Whilst in my ownership, my 1M will not see a track. However if they bump the power up in the CSL to what was originally rumoured for the 1M ie 350 -375 bhp, offer more colours, CF roof and or DCT I will be very very angry. I don't see Audi doing this with the RS3. |

CSL Will not come to the US based on past sales and safety regulations in the US. The parts will also be almost impossible to source from BMW as they have very tight controls on whom orders the parts. Ask a dealer to find you a CSL part for the E46 M3.
A Competition package 1M though, that will definitely make its way over here. I think they will probably keep to the std Competition package list of changes plus one or two extra add ins because its an FI car. upgraded steering wheel Tighter ratio steering rack Lighter wheels (if thats possible for a reasonable cost) Better Brakes setup Maybe optional CF roof removing some of the sound insulation (n54 is not a very noisy engine anyway) Maybe a sport button to bump power or change power delivery curve That might bring in a change in oil cooler (bigger on or added one) Lighter sport seats possibly? Remember, they still gotta sell this thing and keep sales for the M3 up. So dont expect alot of changes. BMW is big on saving weight - thats where they would start. D |

Incorrect. The E36 M3 CSL did make it to the US. Not trying to steal your thunder... it's very likely the US would get left out again. We already don't get the E92 M3 GTS, we never got the E30 M3 sport evo, the E46 M3 CSL, and the new E92 M3 sedan lightweight has been stated as not for US sale..... |

The 1M is the CSL version of the current 1series just like the M3 GTS is to the current 3series.
Production in Leipzig ends first quarter 2012. Perhaps there might be one made from the next gen.? |

If the 1M CSL comes true, then it's another grande "gotcha" by BMW.
BMW Marketing: Hurry everyone! Buy our limited edition 2011 1M while supplies last. Small print: Because next year we're going to have one on the market WAAAYYYY better! LOL!!!!You all are so screwed!

For anyone that thinks theyre going to be upset... That's the price you pay for being an early adopter... It's not BMW's fault.
They already hooked you guys with the "we're including only a M/T to provide a PURE DRIVING EXPERIENCE" lol aka "It can't be faster than the M3 but we're going to convince you we're not giving it DCT for a good reason ;-)". Marketing BS |

^Right. And then give it DCT the next year!
This reminds me of Apple and how they release their products. We love the products, but hate the rollouts.

^ The answer is simple... Just assume the opposite of whatever BMW marketing says.
So it'll probably be in a car show near you by autumn.
