Sirius Sat Radio
Is the Dealer installed version the exact same as the factory installed version.
I ordered my car, but it was to close to production to change from SAT prep to Satelite Radio. Anybody know how many days before production you cant change options anymore? |

If you have sat prep done on your car, the implementation will be the same as if it was installed at the factory.
As far as when you can change the order.. it's by status codes, not days: BMW production status codes: 037 - Order is at BMW NA 087 - Production week assigned 097 - Order sent to BMW AG 111 - Order accepted at BMW AG 112 - Order scheduled for production (last opportunity to make changes) 150 - Production started 151 - Body shop started 152 - Paint shop started 153 - Assembly started 155 - Production completed 160 - Released to distribution 180 - Waiting for export dispatch 190 - Dispatched Export 193 - Arrived at port of exit 194 - Selected for shipment 195 - Shipped from port of exit 196 - Shipment arrival - ETA |

Sirius dealer-install is the same as sirius factory-install ... in every way except for costs....it'll cost more in total if you go with the dealer route. If you car has flipped to 150 status, try and negotiate a good deal now for the sirius install...I believe I have been seeing prices in the 800s...

Oh the status codes? Your CA should be able to advise you (are you insisting on regular updates?), all the relevant info is in his computer via the DCS system. You could also bug the live person at the 1-800 number. As the process gets under way, I'd just match the status with the codes...that's all there is to that.
Btw if you car is not 150 status yet, you can still change your specs...if the dealer tells you otherwise he/she is just being lazy....its just a couple of keystrokes on the system and you'd probably have to sign approval for the change in specs.
