Production Stopped?
Just got a call from my dealer saying that the order I placed today won't go through the system with the M-Sport Package because they have stopped producing 2011's. Has anyone else been told this?

Confirmed no more allocation for custom orders on 2011 cars, however there are some available but might not be what you what. Spoke to my dealer he stated orders for lci 1 series will start end of the month for marchish delivery.
again this is one dealer you might want to confirm with yours. |

It makes sense, although I'm not sure why your dealer didn't know when they would make the switch.

Weird. I ordered in December and as far as I know am still set to get a 2011. Maybe I'll have one of the last.
All I know is I better not get a call telling me the price has gone up. The FTC frowns upon games like that. |

I was just at my local dealer here in Canada on Friday of last week, and nothing of the sort was mentioned. I'll be pissed to no end if they tell me I have to fork over the extra cheddar to get a 2012. In fact I'll just walk.

If BMW wasn't taking any more custom orders for 2011, then why do they still have the "build your own" option on their website?
I am currently waiting from a December 23rd order to get a production #, but I would be very surprised if I didn't get a 2011. We will see. |

My 2011 135i with sport package was just scheduled for production with a completion date of Jan 19.
The original order was placed the second week of December. |

For the record, I ordered December 21, and they altered one of their allocated cars. Actually changed it from a 128 to a 135, which they say used to be forbidden. |

I asked my BMW sales rep about this situation, this is his reply
Hello Kyle, Thank you for your email. The statement that you have read on the forum is not true. As it stands we can still place orders with factory on the 2011 1 Series. The last build date for this model is in the last week of February. I can secure one of these slots for you, have it built – you can then settle the balance in March. |
