New to the BMW family

Hey guys,

Ordered my 2011 BMW 135i on Oct 5th, it's currently waiting to be loaded onto a ship. I spent a rather long time trying to find the car for me, and came to the conclusion the 135i was the best choice.

Ended up getting Jet Black, with Black Leather int, M Sport, Premium package, Nav, Heated Seats, MT

As far as deals, turns out I dont have a bargaining bone in my body, but I think I will be pleased with the vehicle, and can't wait till it gets here.

Also getting the black kidney grill and aero package installed at the dealer when the car arrives

I have read a LOT of posts from this site. and would like to thank everyone for all of your advise, and input. Ill keep you posted on the status of my order

Welcome! It's worth the wait, in my case, 45 days - would have been a bit less had Hurricane Otto not delayed the Auto ship

thank you, I have been to the BMW dealership a few times, really looking for any excuse I can think of to go test drive it again till mine gets here.

I have read these threads for quite a while, even before I ordered the car, and I thought to myself, wow these guys are hard core, checking the status all the time, tracking their shipment, posting on here with the color, and deal they got for the car. I began to feel how others on the site felt. Oct 16th the car finally went into production. I would call the 800 number usually two, to three times a day, call my CA to find out if he got any news before I did, even went there to drive a 135 they had on the lot while I waited for mine to arrive. On Oct 20th I called the 800 number and received word my car had finished production and was awaiting a shipping vessel. Because I knew the car was waiting to get on the ship I began going to the shippinging site and entering my VIN to see if it had been loaded yet. It was loaded onto the ship on Oct 23rd

Currently it's still on the ship and expected to arrive in BALTIMORE, MD on 11/5, I am in VA so expect to still have a little bit of a wait after that.

Overall, I am happy with the timeline, I have read other posts, and feel thus far I have been pretty lucky, things seem to be moving along.

Somewhere along the line I turned into a 1 addict, it didn't happen over night but it happened, and I wasn't expecting it.

haha not a bad idea, but I think I will wait for it to arrive at the dealer. The thing that's killing me is the fact they have to paint the Aero Kit, but can't do that till it arrives, they want to make sure its a perfect match, and I get that, and it's great they are making sure.... doesnt make the waiting any easier.

well if it did they def aren't going to tell me, I spoke with them yesterday, they said they aren't real sure what's going on, just that they have multiple cars stuck at the port. Arrival date was Nov 15th, then the 18th, I guess bottom line is no one knows when it will be here.

Still no word on my car, I continue to call, and they continue to tell me it's still in MD along with 8 others. In order to keep me happy he offered to let me take a 135i off the lot till mine shows up, expected to be on Tuesday. I drove over to the BMW dealership and chose the one I wanted to drive for a few days, filled out the insurrance paperwork, and put the dealer tags on the car.

pretty close to my order
Jet Black, Savanna Beige Leather (dif then mine), M Sport, 6MT, NAV, Heated Seats, drove it off the lot with 35 miles on it

I would be a little concerned about the stalling and the story about the "8 cars". I would be reminding them that they are obligated to disclose any damage or body repair work that takes place when the car arrives at destination port. It wouldn't be the first time BS like that has happened.

Hey guys, I have had the car for a few months now, and I must say I LOVE IT!, it's such an enjoyable ride. It was a bit overcast today but finally warm enough for me to wash it, thought it turned out real nice.

Only things done to the car are:
BMWPF Black Grill
Window Tint:

Driver/Passenger - 50%
Back Small Windows, and Full Back Window - 20%
