Dashboard and heating control illumination question

Hi guys,

I think something odd happened after I reset the Brake fluid service counter with my dashboard and heating control illumination on a pre facelift 120i coupe. Hope someone can help.

With headlight switched to OFF and Daytime headlight enabled

I thought the dashboard/heating control illuminate and the daytime headlight come on when I insert the key to the slot?

Now dashboard/heating control no longer illuminate and daytime headlight come on only when I start the engine?

Can someone confirm this? Thanks!

My daytime headlights come on only when the motor is running.

yup that sounds right.. lights only come on on unlock if the headlights are set to "ON"

unless you have the lighting package.. you'll have this if you have lights under the door handles and auto headlights... then lights will come on if it senses it's dark on unlock
