Need Help Window doesn't work.
My Driver side window doesn't work after taking the door panel off. At first the window switch didn't work but it vented when opening the door. Then the switch worked intermittently, now it doesn't work and it doesn't vent. I don't hear the relay on the drivers side but I do hear it on the passenger side. Using the key in the door only controls the sunroof and the passenger window. Is it the relay? Switch?
Also, when the switch did work, the window limiter did not. window went all the way up. Last edited by Motohip; 05-19-2013 at 11:56 PM.. |

From what I'm getting here it worked fine BEFORE you took the door panel off, but not after? That would mean you don't have a wire connected properly, or you have a ground near the metal on the door that is shorting out. If that's the case, remove the panel again and trace all the wires, making sure they are isolated at the contact points and there are no wire pinches that could ground one out.

i hate to say this but there is no way to tell if it is the switch or the relay unless you have a volt meter. You have to pull the door card and test for voltage. before you do that though you might be able to rule out other things like is there a broken wire or terminal corroded etc. that would be where i would start.
you can buy a cheap volt meter from somewhere like harbor freight for around $10
