N54 Knock sensor

Does anyone know if the N54 in our 1Ms have a knock sensor onboard? Reason I ask is that I sometimes hear what sounds like engine knock, yet searching all over the net, it seems no one has experienced this or they simply haven't brought it up on the net.

I started to think it may be this rattly waste gate I keep hearing about but nothing at idle with no load, only with load.

Just would surprise me if this modern motor has this problem and that it doesn't have a knock sensor to protect it.

So if anyone knows for sure, if you could please let me know for peace of mind, thanks.

i did not see the codes , but just luck that i was traveling to BMW garage for wiper blades and the light came on... I told then and they took it around the back and plugged it in to the machine came back and said it was the knock sensors at fault... The technician that changed them said they seemed as if they were not torqued up correctly... like loose hope that helps .... good luck
