weird knocking and rubbing noise from wheel well

hey guys i bought my car a month ago and i've been hearing this weird noise coming from the front of my car. it gradually got louder over the past month. i'm taking it into the dealer tomorrow to find out what it is.

the sound occurs when i'm reversing and turning the steering wheel and sometimes when i'm driving forward and turning also. it sounds like the tire is hitting some kind of lining on the inside of it. my car is completely stock so i know i shouldn't have a problem with rubbing.

anybody have any clues?

my service advisor called me back today and i was shocked by the news.
apparently the grease was leaking from the ball joint? the car is a month old and it has 2k miles on it...

HAHA... The right front wheel and it sounds like POP??? If thats it, there has been a ton of discussions about that.. My car still does it...

Wow I was just about to make a thread on this.. My car has been doing this since I got it 2500 miles now.

When ever I turn usually reversing I can hear a loud tick tick tick tick coming from the right side tire wheel well.

Took it to the dealer 3 or 4 times couldn't recreate it.... But when it went in I had a vert 128i.. The sec I pulled it off the lot and turned to the right... POP!... Not sure what the fix is... Thats if there even is one...

I have it too. It sounds like a single thump that seems to come from the front passenger side. Its just a random thing right now. Happens about once a day.

it's still at the dealer. my advisor asked me if i could replicate the sound and i said yes. so i did and his facial expression was priceless. he asked me why i didn't bring it in any sooner. i told him i thought the sound would go away and he told me i was an optimistic fella.

he called me back and said my car should be ready by tomorrow but it's been there all weekend AND they don't know what the problem is still. he says the sound comes and goes. so... on saturday he told me they knew what was up but now they don't know? oh dear...

and there's been a thread about this before? anybody know what it is?

I just started hearing this 3-days ago. The noise would indicate that there is something loose and something is being rubbed. When I accelerate, the noise is not as obvious but when I slow down you can hear it go.. daaaaa-doomp, daaaaa-doomp, daaaaa-doomp, etc... I looked and the only thing I notice is that there's a hole that I never knew existed right behind the rear passenger tire by the lining...

Im thinking, this hole is new? and the air must be causing that lining to flap, hence causing the noise?
