Using the fader and balance function of the head-unit, I could easily compare the sound quality of the rear speakers before and after replacement. Despite its relatively low price, the MB Quart sounds much better than the stock speakers. It is a DIY project worth pursuing.

Do take note that the limited space available at the rear shelf could be a problem for a tall guy. I am merely 5'10" and my neck muscle felt sore for a couple of days.

I have a 2011 1M and I have a couple of questions in case anyone here can help.

1 can see that there is a already a hole to add a tweeter in the rear. I would just like to add an HK or Bavsound tweeter in the rear.

Is there already a supplied connector for the tweeter or is there a crossover an original bmw crossover I can ad?

I also think the AMP should be able to handle another 2 tweeters.

Finally, is there a DIY on how to get to the speakers on the rear shelf?
