I think the MSRP of the 535i GT is quite a bit cheaper than the 535i sedan..so there's that. Not sure why that's the case though.

The 320GT isn't that bad, at least they did some styling revision to try and make it look pretty..

The 5er GT strong suit is that it has the interior from a 7er - plus it has a HUGE (double)tail gate trunk. For someone who only wants ONE car to do everything - it makes sense.

Considering its main competition for form/function is the A5 sportback I cant see many people buying a 5GT. |

@Dackelone - but why not just get a wagon?
the wagon has both more space, and LOOKS shitloads better, i mean, it makes the GT look like a beat up corolla in comparison -_- |

What is going on with BMW, why do they produce such cars that simply don't appeal.
Or is it just a South pacific thing We all like the 1/2/3/4 series but some of the other series are just lost . Mercedes haven't made a dog for a while, there vehicle range just gets better year by year. Even Audi / VW are taking sales away from BMW. And yes i still love my BMW N54 powered E92 BITSA |

I'm assuming the "GT" model must be more appealing in European markets than it is here. Its probably intended as a spacious car intended for a comfy ride over congested roads. Its definitely lacks the sporting styling that many BMW buyers are traditionally attracted to.
I think it may be mistake for BMW to offer it in this market. I expect that 99% of Australian buyers would prefer the higher driving position and aggressive looks of the X5, while the other 1% would be better served by the 5 series wagon. |
