CEL & error p0440

Hey guys,

strangely enough my check engine light came on (about an hour ago). I pulled into advance auto to scan the codes and it seems it spit back 3 errors all of which "P0440 Evaporative emission system." From the little bit of research that I did some say that its the gas cap "which I have removed and reseated and not luck whatsoever". Has anyone seen this error AND FIXED IT?...also is it something I can drive on? plz let me know and since Im a noobinite keep the flaming to a minimum?!?!??!?

You need to clear the code to check if your gas cap technique worked.

You are on the right path though.

Or the lines and such. I doubt your gas cap went bad.
