What Tires Are People Using to Replace RFTs???

Hello all. After I recently found love for my runflats... Some people showed me the light.

For the people who have kept the stock rims and replaced the tires, what are you guys going with? The Yokohama S.drive seem to have some good reviews for a great price.

I have a 325i but this may still help you. I went one inch wider with my rims, but the tires I chose, General Exclaim UHP, work extremely well. Tons of grip in the dry and wet. Road noise is high until you put 300 or so miles on em, but then they taper down to average.

I'm probably going to go with the Yokohamas or Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics before summer gets here. I'm leaning more towards the Goodyears.

I got the Yokohama ADVAN S.4's. nice quiet, comfortable ride now with wet and dry handling. Check out Tire rack. They have a check list on what you consider as your priority; Handling, comfort, quietness, rain/snow handling, etc. Gill from Tire rack was also a big help.

I'm using Michelin PS2s mounted on 17" wheels. Much better ride than the RFTs and the handling seems more neutral as well.

I just put on s-drives on my 135i and they are perfect... Ride is better than stock and no road noise....

I got stock sizes. I did because the tire warranty would only cover if it's replaced by the same size tire.

If you look in the sticky's in the Wheel and Tire section, there is a FAQ that tells the widest you can go without problems.

I'm having em mounted on friday... I will let everybody know how they feel.

I am torn between the Sumitomo HTRZIII and the General Exclaim UHP.

I am intending on going 225/40/18 front 255/35/18 rear.

These sizes will fit perfectly on the 264 stock 135i wheels right?

I am running a JB3, and my #1 nemesis is traction from a dig. I don't want to run the Nitto 555Rs because that would involve getting new rims.

I was hoping that either of the aforementioned street tires will be a huge improvement over the stock RFTs. If they're not, I guess I'll keep my RFTs and get some Kosei K1s with some DRs.

Anyone here running a non-RFT with a tune? And does it help traction from a dig? Thanks for the help guys!

toyo t1rs. I'd go with hankook RS2, if you want a good cheap tire, but if you got the dough, advan neovas are one of the best street tires.

pzero nero... great amt of grip. has decent wear rating and doesnt hydroplane at speed. the grooves on the pzero nero work very well.

I think I'm going to get one of the SLIME kits. They claim to be water soluble and will not ruin TPMS sensors. I guess only one way to find out.

Also about 1/8th the price of the mobility kit.

I'm also going to get a donut kit for long drives.

After finding a nail in one of my rear tires Tuesday night I had to go ahead and order the Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics + Contikit from Gill yesterday. Should be here tomorrow.

Unfortunately I found out that getting tires for these cars in a hurry is not possible since nobody stocks them, particularly the rears. Except of course the dealer who wanted $930 for 2 rear RFTs installed.

At least TireRack can get me the tires in 2 days instead of 5-7 other places were quoting me.

What sizes General Exclaim UHP did you get front/back? I can get them on sale up here.
