apparently they have to open a "puma case" with bmw before bmw will agree to pay for high dollar fixes (hpfp)

I've never purchased a car there but I have not had any issues with the service department. and I actually started going there because of Lance. he used to be the service manager at Foreign motors west witch I always received great service at.

That's why mine took a while once it was in. A day to diagnose and submit, then hopefully get approval and fix the next day. Big thumbs down for the process.

I today came to the conclusion that it is safer to park closer to the shopping cart return than far away from it. unless of course you park so far away that no one in their right mind would ever park near you. Reason being that the people who have the decency to return their cart would have the decency to avoid ramming your car with a cart. Thoughts?

Wow, I was thinking just the same thing the other day when I saw four cars parked around a shopping cart return that was several spaces away from the row of occupied cars outside of Stop and Shop, so they did not do it because it was the closest one left. Then i was like wait a minute...the people that bring their cars back must not ram them into the cars, they place them back carefully rather than leaving them to roam like predatory battering rams. Nevertheless, I still park as far away as possible.

Just had my 46K service. Went back down to BMW of Newport. Not only did the Tech tell me how much he enjoyed working on my immaculate car, but with the oil change (at this mileage) you get new air filter and spark plugs. Since I have an aftermarket filter, they just gave me the stock filter in a box! So if anyone needs one let me know! They also changed my wiper blades. All within 30-40 minutes
