Building a 1-series 135i Track Car

Here are some shots of my track car build

Think these tires will rub...
(and these are the fronts)

In the pics you will see my other red 135i going back to lease return

I am swapping out the Euro headlights

I will keep updating this thread with new pics as I go

Let me know

I purchased the hitch on ebay - it is a curtis hitch - good fitment - just sucks with aftermarket exhausts as the hitch mounts very close to the bumper support

As for future mods required for the track:

StopTech 355 mm 6-piston front brakes - PF1 pads
Hotchkis front sway bar - have it already -
Vorslag camber plates - I bought my car used with KW V3's in it already
BR Racing 4 point cage
Evolution Racewerks Carbon widebody kit
Evolution Racewerks oil coolers
BMW Performance wheel - no electronics
Carbon M3-style hood
Carbon CSL-style trunk

Thats mainly it apart from what you see in the pics - I still have more weight to take out
ie sunroof delete and some more rear trim - rear speakers and so-on

I am leaving the front carpet section in as under it is not level and has styrofoam padding to make it level - I will need to fabricate something for there

no intercooler upgrade or performance upgrade? how about an LSD? you are leaving out the important kit for the track. btw, is that a museum in the background or is that your back yard. very nice!

As for the LSD, I am waiting for one to be used in a track car to gauge durability

I want a quaife, but I have not seen one with track abuse on a 135

The engine on my street car overheats both on the street and on the track in both coolant and oil temps, and that car ha the dinan tune, so i am going to see how this car handles the heat stock and mod from there

I am getting the front body kit and then i might get an fmic since that will take away some heat

We shall see

look into OS Giken LSD. they are more hard core than the Quaife. you may also want to look into upgrading your radiator. that should take care of your over heating along with the FMIC and an upgrade oil cooler.

HP Autowerks Time Attack car has had a Quiaffe in it for about 3 years. Ask them to be sure.

Oil: You can go the AR route or you can contact Evolution Racewerks. They run a 135 in Time Attack with dual oil coolers.

Coolant: AR Radiator, HP Autowerks Radiator (soon to be released). You really need to get the coolant temps down too. The Time Attack guys have experienced limp mode due to coolant temps.

Ambient Air: I firmly believe that not allowing the hot air in the engine compartment not to escape is contributing to the high temps. Increase the air flow and aerodynamics at high speeds with a vented hood.

You could also do the meth. See HP Autowerks and a myriad of threads on here for more information.

Good luck

Im reading up on Evolution racewerks right now . I never knew they had oil coolers. Also BR racing seems to have custom ones too! Thanks for the info.
