N55 exhaust options
Hi,
what are the options for one who drives an N55? I haven't seen anything about this topic recently here. Im looking for something descent. Right now I got the performance exhaust but Im unhappy with the sound up from 4000rpm, to monotone.

I think the BMW Performance Exhaust is the best sounding exhaust. I can't think of anything that sounds better. Most people would choose the BMW PE but can't justify the price from what I can tell after seeing all of the posts I have read on here.
If you want louder, I would look at getting a downpipe. Replacing the cat-back would be going backwards imo. Vishnu and iCarbon make a great n55 downpipe.

My current setup is the iCarbon catless downpipe with the BMW Performance Exhaust, which includes a resonator delete... it is the best sounding combo IMHO, especially if you have the DCT.

Berk. I am running a 4" DP and the full Berk Street Exhaust. It is a little loud but it sounds amazing especially at full throttle and down shifting to hear the burbles.

Just go with Berk... seriously...
Berk Sport exhaust on my N55 is AMAZING! When I ran the car with stock exhaust and catless downpipe, it was really raspy and I didn't like it. But after I added the Berk Sport, it eliminated the rasp and added refined tone! |

Also are they both compatible with the N55?

Has anyone seen a setup like the 335is on the 135? Like something with the dual tips and black would be nice but not necessary. Just wondering... since I think that thats how the 135 should come.

I mean i love hearing the sound of the engine but is it possible to drive it quietly and live with it every day if you like the noise?

Yes, very possible. Mine is very loud and a daily driver. You could probably pick up a setup like mine for about $1700. It is a very easy install too.
