Sure thing. It's a M3 cluster from a 2/13 E92 M3 (6spd). I got it off eBay for $15 because its slightly cracked. I'm still trying to work out the gremlins with the cluster, as it was a royal PIA to program (especially being a used cluster). I'm a dealership technician so I can use our programming software at the shop, but the issue I had was that when you put the M cluster into the E82, the computer (naturally) says it's the wrong part number. So what I found out is that basically you have to trick the computer. I can go into more details if anyone is interested. Besides that, its basically plug and play minus a few physical modifications you need to do in order for it to fit inside the gauge hood.

And yes, digital speedo and dynamic redline all work, along with the gauges being accurate.

Oooooh, if you find a way to retrofit the HUD, I would love to see that! Sadly, I've always wanted that since I saw it on a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix. Why a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix had it and most cars today don't is beyond me.

What would you say the chances are of explaining this to the service guys at my local BMW dealer and them being cool with doing the coding? I'd love to try this out but I just don't have the software.

BTW: Does the MPG and all the other onboard computer stuff work OK? I notice it's just dashes in the pic.

I would say a shop foreman should be able to figure it out, but I highly doubt that they will do it, only because most dealerships suck when it comes to asking for custom things. But I could write a step-by-step for another technician using ISTA/P.

Yup, MPG works too. It just zero's out when its at idle.
The one issue I'm having is I can't get the VIN in the cluster to match the VIN in the car. I believe swapping out the EPROM chip will solve this. With the two VIN's not matching, a mileage tamper dot is illuminated, and CBS data is null (required services, etc). The tamper dot goes away and CBS data is restore upon reinstallation of the factory cluster.

Nice! Do you think you'll be able to swap those chips out? I imagine it wouldn't be a simple thing to do.

Yup, I actually have an unwritten chip, but I've been too busy to take the time to do it lately. I should have a working (programmed) final product by the end of the week. Assuming everything actually programs. If not, I'm out $15.

I just realized that I quickly need to make friends with a local BMW tech.

It's actually quite simple. You need to start programming session with Ista-p with old cluster in then after measure plan has been accepted and programming starts you hot swap new cluster in. Voila. Ista always starts programming cas module first on e9x and e82x. On a not so good note, if and when you reinstall old Kombi (cluster) you will still have manipulation dot due to the fact it is stored in 2 modules. Kombi and cas module. They will no longer have the same mileage.

That's pretty much what I did. but because its a used cluster, it didn't program the VIN. my tse was kind enough to write a custom VO for the cluster that I used.
