Italy here i come.. OR....?

Hey Guys- need opinions

Heres the background. My buddy from class has finally admitted he has a crush on me. He took me out to lunch last friday and we had a good time. Im not super attracted to his looks, but his personality is great. He paid for everything, picked me up, walked me to my door.. the whole nine (Unlike my sea world nightmare). Hes 22, his parents are flithy rich. He just bought his first condo $450K. He made money from investing his inheritance. His parents are still married after 36 years, and hes very family orientated.

Anyway, the other night we were talking about traveling. He said that he would love to go to italy, and i said yea its beautiful. We well started kidding around, and we ended up talking about really going to italy this summer. I told him i didnt have the money, and he said that he would basically take care of it. He looked up tickets and the airfare will be $2,400. He told me to give him $400 and we're cool. He'd pay the rest. We're thinking about 7-10 days. He told me to pick a date sometime this summer. Possibly july

My mom is actually ok with it, cause well.. you live once, and she's met him before and thinks hes a nice guy. My dad was tripping about the fact "well what does he expect in return??" I asked my friend that, and he said hey im not that ugly, i dont need to pay $5K to get laid.

Anyway, so what do you all think? Take the opportunity and just do it. Or... am i nuts?

oooooo....tough question.

I have found that you really need to get along with someone when going on travels. Tempers can go kinda weird. If you indeed get along with him and think that it would be cool...well, maybe you should go for it.

Just...you gotta understand that he is going to expect some hook up action for sure!!!! I mean, going to europe...paying for everything...and no action If you do not mind hooking up while in europe...hey, like you said...you only live once. You are young, enjoy it while you can. But if you do not see yourself getting friendly with him...........just be ready for the trip to go

Ooo...and yeah, although he does not have to shell out $$ to get laid...... it sure does help, when it comes to mami buenas!

well i think it all depends on expectations. what are you expecting out of the trip and do you think itll match his expectations...and if theyre different do you think you guys are cool enough to get along or will it ruin your relationship (friend or otherwise).

i think you guys need to be clear on what you want out of this trip, stated or implied. from a guys point of view, regardless of what he says, hes hoping to advance your budding relationship. if your cool with that then by all means have a great trip. but if your unsure then i would advise aginst the trip for the guys sake. i personally think its pretty clear what he wants (its not even about the money, its the principle of it all.) so the decision is all about what you want/need out of this... but dont forget to consider his wants/needs.

if you asking my personal opinion: its one helluva proposition - but i dont know if i can handle that kind of pressure. i would be too busy trying to keep the person whose paid for this happy without compremising my boundires. but its still a couple of months down the line. hell if i dated a girl for couple of months and had this opportunity, i couldnt pass up that deal. either way this is a problem im sure anybody would love to have.

oh man... I would hate for the guy to get his heart broken when he finds out you're moving to NY (assuming things will work out between you guys). I think it's wrong to string someone along when you know you're not gonna b in town much longer. That's my pitch.

Think it through. It may be a totally innocent thing, but I'm a suspicious type when it comes to people's motivations. I'm thinking people don't just offer something like this "on a whim".

Is it just the two of you? So you're okay being with him most of 24/7? As stated before, traveling brings out the best and worst in people.

How are the travel arrangements set up? Make sure you can book a return flight early - and the ticket is in your possesion.

I couldn't have said it better myself. If you're on the fence about the guy, let him know. It's only fair to him, and if he is still insistent upon taking you there, make it clear to him what you're feeling. On the other hand, he IS taking a pretty big chance on you... and well...

My first boyfriend was by no means a looker. But he was such a awesome guy .we dated for a year and 1/2, and are still good friends. So really, in the end, its the personality that will snag me

My x bf was gorgeous. But , we had a horrible breakup, and when i sit back and think.. it was physical. We stayed together cause we were hot for each other, not cause we were compatible
