This evening, returning home from work, sleep deprived from the night before, I actually drove responsibly, did not exceed the speed limit nor seek an opportunity to drift.

Right on! I share the same feelings. This car takes so little time to go to 80mph that the joy of accelerating lasts only a few seconds.
