2010 New York Auto Show Press Days

Thank you all for looking, for the rest of the photos which in total
are 122, may be seen @ http://arthurl.zenfolio.com/p9067027

So here we go, on the way to Press Day 3/31/2010
we spotted the GT3 RS Hybrid that was unloaded in a paid parking garage,
reason was because it arrived to NY too early, and they had no where to put it..
Problem with it was, since its very mint, is unloading and loading, which took them 5 hours, and now it couldnt leave the lot,
cause its way too low, so this car was interviewed from the lot ..
Funny, that a lot of Car news sites were not even aware..

9:35am Presentation by Ernst Lieb President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA

and the SLS GT3 Rolls onto the stage, Very Loud...

Ernst Lieb President and CEO Mercedes-Benz USA, presenting SLS GT3.

Ernst Lieb than welcomed Volker Mornhinweg CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

Forgot the Gentleman's name honestly, but he was behind the new
facelifted R-Class, welcomed the USA Gold Medalist Team in Bob-Sled

dont mind the chick, but from left to right, Justin Olsen, Curtis Tomasevicz, Steve Melser, and Steve Holcomb..

now for the bad boy itself, I present to you, the M/B SLS GT3

Next presentation was Infiniti at 10:30am, which I took some photos
but it wasn't anything serious, so I prowled around, and what did I see

If you didnt guess yet, , It was the Lexus LF-A

So the Infiniti presented the QX56, which IMO is terrible Looking..
As I was leaving their area, I saw this on a Plate, and wondered
why not present this? it wouldve been more entertaining, than a Blimp with Wheels

Infiniti Essence

Onto the next one , so everything became rather boring,
Up next were Mitsubishi, Kia, Hyundai, so therefor I just walked around,
and looked around, until I passed by the New Fiat 500 booth.. :banghead: :banghead:

Walked around, Walked around, and just made it in Time for VW,
Stefan Jacoby, CEO of Volkswagen Group of America presenting the new Toureg2 TDI, which by the way is really nice

3:00 pm, VW wrapped up, and I had to be by BMW at 3:05pm..
Ye got to hustle around for position..
3:10pm, VP of Marketing BMW Jack Pitney Came out on the new BMW
Bike

and went about how the new bike division by bmw, is gonna be a big thing,
since the e30 M3

Now came the Unveilings,

That last car at the end in a car cover, Was what I atleast waited for a long time

Day 2

pretty much covered 2 unveilings, and just took photos of the cars, when
I forgot, silly me

GM unveiling the Chevy VOLT

Subaru that morning Unveiled the new STI

So now Im wrapping up my Rant, Ill post a few more photos for u guys,
Thank you all again for looking and hope u all enjoy it, as much as I did..

Kris Odwarka-Howell Sales Director at ALPINA Burkard Bovensiepen + Co. KG Next to Alpina B7

BRAVO, fantastic shots. I was at the show on Friday, but always look for a good photo gallery. Tough to take shots @ the show with all the people around. Story behind the GT3 RS Hybrid is nuts. Would have been hilarious to park next to it in an ordinary garage.

On another note, any idea why Ferrari has been missing from the show these past couple years?

Maybe cause of market, Ferrari used to produce about 400 cars a year, and remembered them saying like 2 years ago, that they were gonna cut it to 100..
so now I just dont know..
Alpina Makes more B7's than ferrari produces ferrari, lol, The gentleman u see next to it, is the man, very smart guy, knows mad things, even answered some of the things that made me wonder about bmw's.. he said they produce either 5 a week or 5 a day..

As far as crowds in photos, these were during press days, therefor the crowd is really small, and peaceful..

Why is it the Germans always have the coolest cars, but the Italian's have the best looking models showing off their cars!

It was the same at the Frankfurt Show (IAA). The best looking models were at Alfa and Fiat!
