Did the owner keep it in his living room all these years? Unbelievable!

No idea. Googling 'BMW CSL (or CSL 3.0) for sale' did not bring up any hits

Love the old Bimmers.
Next to each other in the same garage. One lucky owner who also owns a BMW/Sauber F1, a BMW M1, a BMW M3 GT4, an E30 M3, an E46 CSL (just to mention some of the cars), and recently sold one of his two E82 1M to me

It's not a CSL but a CSi, a considerably less valuable car. Plus it has a non-original engine.
Good lucking car, but nothing really special. Neil EDIT: But per Redadair's post belong, I may be wrong! Last edited by MDORPHN; 06-13-2013 at 08:41 AM.. |

Sorry guys, if you look closely you can see the reflection of the side vents just behind the front fender wheel arch. It does appear to be a CSL, but without original engine that hurts the value a bunch..

Does anyone else think the bodyline below the windows on the rear 2/3rds of the 1M are reminiscent of the CSL's chrome bodyline?

I doubt it's a CSL for that money. Arc the Albert seems to know the owner, he states the car is a CSi.
"1972 3.0 CSI. Has an upgraded motor out of a 735i. Everything has been sorted out during a ground up full restoration done here in the Bay Area, USA. Mileage on the engine is 90k miles while the chassis itself has 150k. Asking price is $50,000 USD. Do you guys have any specific questions you would like me to ask the seller?" Looks good in a rare black on black combination. I've got two of these, one of which is undergoing a bare shell restoration. The side vents aren't vents at all, just decorative grills. Everyone upgrades the engine to a 3.5 or larger on these cars. If it is an auto then most upgrade to a 5 speed Getrag overdrive. Provenance is not so important for CS and CSi cars. CSLs on the other hand tend to be original matching number 3.0 Ltr 4 speed manuals in original colours. Last edited by gazz; 06-14-2013 at 05:16 AM.. |
