Wow. This is sweet.

btw, here's what the original looks like. I would like to get mine painted in BSM. I like the carbon fiber look but not on this car.

This was my concern when I saw the vents, beneath the right hand facing vent was the bonnet switch for the alarm, not good if it gets wet surely

Jezz where did you order the hood from? And from what I read you are using m3 struts. I was reading other threads and there seems to be a slight elevation issue with the Seibon hood on the E82 with the stock struts adjusted to the max. Which I assume you switched over the the m3 part to get perfect fitment (move the hood lower)?

Pics of the elevation difference with the Seibon CF hood on an E82. I assume they use the same mold for the M3 style hood as well?

Could you link to both parts?

I had to use the m3 struts because the carbon bonnet is much lighter than the original one the oem struts were far to powerful and we didn't want the bonnet flexing to much m3 struts are alot less powerful

The bonnet is very well made as far as carbon bonnets go the gaps are a little wider and it doesn't sit as perfectly as the oem one, the vents will draw hot air out of the engine bay at speed but I am unsure if this is of any benefit I fitted it because I love the look of the m3 bonnet on my car and for no other reason and I am prepared to put up with it not sitting as flush ad oem

It's all about the bump and the vents baby!

Can we get more photos of the gaps? I'd like to see how good the fitment is.

Looks great man! Definitely agree that this is the way the 1m should've came stock.

For myself, I'm not too sure on the vents so I'm waiting for the slek hood to be released to the public.

Here's the email I received from Seibon:

Hello,

We only have one price which is $960.00 + $180.00 for shipping. We do not offer customer paint jobs. We are currently out of stock on this hood. ETA on more BM style hoods is 8-10 weeks. Let me know if you would like to place an order.

Kind Regards,

Julio Bernal

This is a good angle of the hood. It looks like shaper lines on the dome.

That photo is deceptive the lines are not sharp on the dome they are very similar to that of a m3

So, can we get more side pictures like Satalite is asking for? I'm curious as well because in one of the original pictures the gap is big enough where you can see something inside the engine bay.

So will keeping the OEM 1M struts on with this hood affect fitment of the CF hood at all or are they just your personal preference because of rigidity thoughts?
So are the struts necessary for better fitment or just a preference?

I imagine the struts stop the bonnet smacking you in the face on the way up and make it easier to shut on th way down - right?
