Are you sure the airbag can't be carried over if you not have a sport/msport wheel? The airbag on the sport/msport wheel and the normal one appear to be the same size. Are the plugs different?

Honestly, I'm not sure. The last two paragraphs in my description are actually taken right off the BMW Accessories website.
