IMPORTANT: What stage did you Aussie's receive your VIN number?

well, i've finally received my VIN

Tried entering on the Cargo ID and other fields but it shows up as "No Records found".

Do they take a while to update their database after the car is built?

Has your car finished being built yet? It probably won't show up until it is on the boat?

My understanding was that you only receive a VIN after the car has finished the build... and my dealer also says that it has been built.

I'm pretty sure it should show up when it's waiting for a boat as i've seen some people mention along the line that they're in that stage of their wait...

The VIN is assigned as soon as it gets a production number (prior to the build). That's when I got mine which was about 10 days prior to the actual build.

But then it just depends on how co operative your SA is with your requests for the VIN.

My SA sent me an email telling me "My BMW has been born" - this is when the VIN Number was assigned, well before it was in production. Nothing happens before the VIN Number is assigned. He gave the VIN Number to me Feb 14th last year - and I took deliver middle of April - so two months from VIN to Delivery.

Well, my vessel seems to be taking a very scenic route... my 135i is enjoying the sights of the Swedish coastline about now. i'm not sure if some boats that leave later may in fact get a more direct route to Aus?

It would be the CargoID you enter the VIN number on the new interface as it was the same on the old interface. The booking number will be filled in after it should find the car via the VIN number.
I dont know if it will still work, but after you do receive the booking number, then if you just enter that booking number as the search (ie no VIN), you should see a number of BMW's come up with their VIN's because BMW don't just book a single car on one booking.
