Help diagnosing an issue with 135is DCT

A good friend of mine has a 2013 135is DCT and he said lately he is having issues where the car won't shift from 2nd to 3rd. The car also stalls out when put in reverse. Any idea what could be causing this?? Car has about 50k miles

Could be a few things, sounds to me like one of the shift forks is stuck... could be a bad mechatronics unit, could be a bad trans... or it could also be as simple as being low on fluid.

Would probably be best to bring it to a dealer and let them run diagnostics on it with ISTA.
