replacing O2 sensor in Auto Classic Perth cost $1800 !!!
Got the Check Engine Light on and sent to Auto Classic Perth to check up. They said the O2 senor is the cause and it will cost $1600 for parts and $200+ labour, add up $1800+ in total.
Do you guys suggest any alternative which will be cheaper? like any other garage who can replace it? Should I go for the extended warranty from Auto Classic?? Honestly AC is just keep ripping people off, and why there is only one dealership in Perth??

ouch that hurts!
Try getting the part from realOEM and getting an indy to do the labour? I can recommend Ramp Auto Group they are the ones who does my car. There is 2 dealership in Perth but still owned by the same person |

I didn't extend my warranty and I highly doubt that AC will negotiate any deal for it. Would probably end up costing more than getting your car fixed. Like Rey suggested purchase the parts from US Vendors and get them fitted elsewhere. Also theres Westcoast BMW in Perth...... which is owned by same bastards as AC. |

Buy it cheaper overseas and have it shipped to an independent workshop

Just get it off the net and take it to an independant. It's an easy change for any mechanic and no reason to go to a bmw dealership at all.

Yeah I agree with that. But if there is anything that requires the car to hook up the factory computer, we still have to go back to dealership, right?
Any garage has the computer like the dealership?

Alternatively, you could get the $100 part from overseas and just have AC fit it.
$100 part + $200 labour = $1500 saving.

Mate that price is for them to replace all of the 02 sensors, it has to be. BMW pulled this on me once as well.
Tell them to get one sensor and trial and error until they work out which one is faulty. |

Do you think they would do it? Personally I'd think it was a bit rude. Get an independent to fit it.

A bit rude? i wouldnt be too concerned about that..
You should be able to do it yourself, depending on which O2 sensor it is and there is no coding required. Out of interest, which sensor is it and was it physically damaged? or just broken? Paul |
