Excitement!!!

But wow, i don't know HOW you managed to keep yourself cool for this long! I admire anyone who puts a BMW on order then waits. Possibly a generation change - the "yes, yes, now, now" generation, such as myself, just want it when we want it. Hence i bought a showroom car!!!

You're going to LOVE your machine and get a VERY special feeling when you see her in the delivery bay. I got that feeling in my pants.

Hahaha im soooo not patient! The time has gone relatively fast actually. Pretty busy with work and stuff, and what do you know its June already!

I can't wait to pick it up! Will bring my Camera and take some happy snaps. Does anyone know how many kms it takes to run the car in? I live like 600km from Perth and will attempt to run the car in over the weekend and get it serviced the next buisness day before I drive home.

135i is recommended 2000km IIRC

125i i was told "Use the full rev range during this period". I did that advice a LOT of justice, racking up 1,100km in the first 2 days

Manual says 2,000km. It doesn't need to be serviced after the break in period. Try to vary the engine speed a bit during this period so it's not just sitting on 6th gear all the way from Perth

No chance for at least a month or two. It's riddled with pot holes after the rain.

Going somewhere new, methinks.

Jeez 2000km... I don't think I have it in me to drive it that much over the weekend! Oh well its good news then it doesn't need a service after the break in! Does that mean the first service is at 5000km?

I might just cruise back and change between the gears. However I have a feeling if I am cruising at 110 and manually change to 5th/6th gear, after a period of inactivity, the DCT will automatically change to 7th...

First service is usually at 15,000km, however some dealers offer a 'check-up' at around 2-5k to check the prostate on the car.

I'm not familiar with the DCT box, however with Sports Auto if you manually select the gear in sports mode by using the flappy-paddles, the gear will stay there unless you drop too low or touch the rev limiter. I imagine it would be the same for DCT.

+1. First service is counted at 15,000km or 12 months from your build date.

The DCT in full manual mode allows you to bounce off the rev limiter.. so it shouldn't shift back to 7th automatically unless you're in Drive and just flicked the paddles.

I read somewhere that the DCT N55 computer will not allow you to engage LC until your car has done at least 2000kms.

Hi Guys, picked up the 135i this morning. Extremely hung over -so didnt get to go for a long drive. First impressions are pretty good. Think it will be impossible to keep it under 4,500 RPM for the first 2,000kms. I normally buy demo's - which have been thrashed from the get go - and never had a problem - so don't really subscibe to this theory anyway. Will try and keep away from the red-line though : ) Already been over a couple of times. DCT is nice. Much smoother than the SMG I had on the M3 a few years back. Nice "pop" between gears. probably the hang over - but didn't notice much difference when the sport button was on. In the M3, this turned the car very aggressive - almost twitchy. Drive to work will sure be a whole lot more fun : )

Good Luck 135 Jie! Great choice of colour! You won't regret DCT - I have it with my M3 and it is a great transmission. Enjoy!

Well here we go! I picked up the car on Friday and what can I say, AMAZING! The car looks great, IMO soooo much better in real life than in pictures. In pictures it doesnt really show the proportions of the car well, the guards look so much more flaired in RL!

Coming from Japanese performance cars, im use to speed but had no clue on how far car technology has come! The professional navigation with iDrive is great, very easy to use and the voice control actually works! The coral red looks very sporty with the SGM, and the GP trim fits in surprisingly better than I thought.

The DCT is out of this world! Soooo smooth and sooo fast, it really is the way of the future of performance cars IMO. Its perfect for crusing if you leave it in Drive, but with a flick of the paddles it gives you complete control when you want it. The N55 engine paired with the DCT seems to be a great match so far.

Still in the process of running the engine in ATM, but so far very very happy with the purchase. Actually I had a bit of a scare when I went to pick the car up, I was told BMW could source me insurance, however after going through the paper work, I was advised that they couldn't actually insure me based on the car price and my age... Ended up finally sorting out insurance with Just cars which actually ended up being $600 less a year than BMW's intial quote .

Ill try my best to post up some pics this weekend!
