N54 / N52 Reflash

not sure if you guys saw this post in the main section so ill put it here anyway.

http://oetuning.com/index.php/produc...35i-3-0tt.html

If you look down the bottom of that page it appears that the gains are very similar to DMS and Evolve re flashes;

225KW --> 270KW

Cheers,

Matt.

In fact scrolling down to post this was one hell of an effort.

if its anything like the DMS reflash that I had done then I can tell you now that most of your gains will be mid range and with the increased torque it will get you off the line much quicker. My best time over 1/4 mile was 13.1 and that was with only a reflash, no other mods what so ever. Also thats with an AT, but remember a reflash wont compare to JB3 or Procede in terms of raw power.

Ok, back on topic.

PLEASE Orlin change that damn avatar!!!!!!!!

Ok, the tune looks to be solid for the 128/125. It's a 10% torque jump, and a 10% HP jump for the 3.0 NA. That in itself is lovely.

The greatest thing i see about the NA tune is that the previous peak power kicks in 1,000rpm earlier. Being an NA car and freely revving, the power is really going to be felt on spirited driving.

I may just get this tune.

The torque is also much flatter in higher revs, so I imagine the 'bump' after a change-up at WOT is going to be felt really well.

I think i'm sold.

haha I had a feeling you would revisit this thread
I agree that this is a great tune for those considering it and the best part is that it can be removed in 70 seconds! so I would assume that you would have the ability to do a "restore" therefor you would not have any warranty issues.

No shit, i read your post, then go to reply and seriously find my head tilted to the left about 40 degrees in awe of those airbags. It distracts me for about half a minute before i snap out of it.

God help her if i ever meet her.

EDIT: supply original photo. Kthx.

What i'm curious about is whether it gives 10%, or 255HP. 255HP = almost 20% increase!

I might be in for a GB on this and sell the PBX (or maybe keep the PBX for the throttle remapping)

I would be in for one as this is something I been waiting for. It is great for people that dont want to/have time to mess around in the engine bay. I also appreciate it would be ideal for aussies as it is a simple PNP solution that you dont need to take your car anywhere for.

However I aint buying until I see some hard evidence of its performance through real dyno charts plus some video evidence of how it stacks up vs other tunes and the king-of-the-hill JB3!

Just emailed them for compatibility / installation info... it's great that it doesn't require messing around the engine bay, but potentially not great if I need special equipment to flash the OBD2 port.

Installing the PBX required some tooling around the ECU compartment but took only about an hour and more importantly was free and completely DIY.

BUT if it's just street driving then MORE POWER is always welcome.

Chylld: let us know what they email back to you.

Handling is good an all, but this car is all about POWERRRR haha!

Might have to invest in some R compound tires...that should sort out the grip issues......off the line haha!

If you want to have some fun on the relative cheap then I suggest buying an '01+ NB MX5, turbocharging it, putting on adjustable dampers, springs and R-compounds. That's all. It'll run with just about anything around the hills or a tight track!! Best fun I have had in a car.
