My mechanic is installing the intercooler and said there was a little bit of a problem with clearance; it was hitting the frame a little but claims he can get it to work. Is this a issue someone else has encountered and just takes a little more time to get it to sit right or? I'm not at his location so I can't look at it myself, just wondering if there is a special technique to get it to slide in easier

He figured it out. Not quite sure what the issue was. I'll take pictures when I get the car back

I ordered a polished one but I can work with the black, it goes with the rest of the car. Wondering if the clearance is typical? Seems to be sitting a little low to what I'm used to in other cars? It might just be the bumper.....I don't know. The piping that came with it apparently was close (drivers side of vehicle) to the frame. But has a little room left near it. I could take pictures of this later on but right now it's dark outside. The intercooler is on the stock side mounts. Everything else is fine but the bottom side of the intercooler. Apparently the bottom bolts (that went into the stock intercooler) underneath the car won't work with this setup, BTW. Last edited by Colt; 05-30-2012 at 08:57 PM.. |

The intercooler grille? I took it off and plan on getting rid of the hindges that keep it in (and smoothing it down inside, etc). Also for picture taking purposes. Hard to see the intercooler with that grille on. I never liked that grille in front of the intercooler (personal preference). That is if I decide to do it and don't change my mind later on. I'm pretty sure you can keep the grille on with the intercooler installed, but I suggested it off.
