I don't even think the M badge should be on the steering wheel and the shifter when you get the m-sport package.. I hate that about it but I'm getting the package because I want the sport springs and sport seats.

The ///M designation is heavily diluted and has long since lost its speciality. Here's mine.. I am not trying to say that my car is an "///M" car by any stretch. It's more that I support BMW motorsports. Would I replace my 135i badge with an ///M... no. |

I thought "Brabus" on a smart was funny - then I found out it was factory. That's sadder than someone putting an M badge on their car.

Just saw a 5 series with an M badge on the back that wasn't an M5 this morning. I just don't understand why you would try to make your car something that it is not.

back on topic with the M badge. I agree if it didn't come with the car it shouldn't go on there but with the Msport pkg, almost everything else is M badged in the car... kinda contradicting of BMW isn't it? |

well i agree its just a badge but why put it on in the 1st place? is an M badge on your car going to make the car faster? no, its about status.

There was a thread on here not too long ago, talking about the M Sport package and all the M's you get with that.
I honestly think that's ok, M is BMW's performance division, so the parts they sell should have M on them. But badging the car I agree crosses a line. That's just posing. |

The main point is it is the cheapest way of making your car appear to be more exclusive and expensive. The biggest problem though...most of the people who even know what M really is are going to know that your model isn't really an M model. |

I wonder, if you have a M badge on your 128, will your insurance costs go up?
Fake badges, Give one position, and also prevents one from keeping it up. But, to each ........what ever makes you happy....life is to short. |

I debadged all my cars. Except my M3. And I removed the ugly ass chrome UDSM EVOLUTION badge on my EVO VIII and replaced it with a JDM cf EVOLUTION VIII badge. Other than that, I have debadged every other car that I drove. Including the 135i.....I just dislike badges in general. But I wont hate on someone for putting an ///M badge on an M-Sport car. The 135i is nit the only BMW with M-sport stuff. I had a 328i M-sport as a loaner at one point. To each their own.

I saw a nice orange 135i the other day on the turnpike. It was debadged and he had a simple //M badge in its place.
It looked very subtle and clean. But for some reason, I was filled with jealousy and rage. I wanted to run him off the road, but I was driving my company vehicle with a huge logo on the side, so I digressed. Let that be a lesson for those thinking about the //M badge. Dont do it, or you may be run off the road by some homicidal maniac filled with jealous rage. Jk, do whatever you want. I completely agree with that "lose lose situation" post. There is no upside to it. |

To me, if it comes from the factory badged, alls good. Added on after the fact by owner, pathetic.
Seems like the guys whining about the M's on the M-Sports cars are the ones who couldn't/wouldn't pony up for it. |
