You don't need to take it to the Omega store.
That said they have recently in the last 4-5 months serviced by Seamaster that I use as a daily watch and do everything with (mountain biking, running, jet skiing etc) and it ended up being about $600-$700 from memory and they sent it off and did a full service on it, replaced the interior parts and polished it. The watchtrader has an in house tech who can service it for you, they are in Melbourne. I got my U-Boat from them (which I'm going to send back for a service). Melbourne's the place for that kind of stuff, I wouldn't ship it to Nick Hacko if you are in Melbourne. |

Got quoted 300 at the castlereagh st omega store to get my constellstion checked, polished/cleaned up. I suspect there will be rust present in the watch after a few years of daily neglect. I look forward to my quote once they open the watch up.

Best place to get an Automatic Tag serviced? Wouldn't mind getting the scratches buffed out either. I suspect that Wallace Bishop/Hardy Bro's may be the local agents.

What about Rolex - mine's going too fast at the moment and need servicing. Any places around Brisbane - just don't want to send the watch.

If we had more sense we'd just buy quartz Pulsars for ~$100. They keep near perfect time & last for decades. |

You don't buy a mechanical movement watch for accurate time telling. That's what your mobile phone is for!
I set the time on my Subby every day. From my iPhone.

Is there no official Omega Boutique in Melbourne? ie. the flagship stores with the sandstone facade (they look the same all over the world). Seems like a few others above have had their Omegas serviced at the offical Omega store here in Sydney with reasonable pricing.... qship, have you inquired with possibly shipping your watch to Sydney for a Service there?
As for Rollies, Nick Hacko only specialises in Rolexes now (www.clockmaker.com.au). May be worth a shot Steve. Nice no-date Sub Kenny. I love the clean, balanced look |

Agreed Jules, I don't like the date "blister" at all on any Rolex.

But the blister is such a special part of Rolex.

Sophisticated bling. I have a couple of Omegas and now I am horrified at the thought that I have to actually service them. I've never had any trouble with mine and one is getting on to 20 odd years old without a service.
I agree with Kenny about the accuracy. Sure they are precise and all that but they are only as accurate to the actual time as your access to the actual time is. Which is usually a mobile phone. So - sophisticated bling is all they are. I suspect that a lot of us walk around hoping someone will notice our Rolex/Omega/Jaeger-LeCoultre and think that we are special. Well I do anyway. |

Expensive watches are like expensive cars.... only service them at a reputable agent/store and preferably where you got it from. However $1857 to get any watch serviced and clean is hilariously expensive, seriously tell the agent to screw himself/herself. I have a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, Cartier Pasher Seatimer and a Cartier Calibre myself and servicing them together is still cheaper and nowhere close to your Omega |

+1 (although I'd hope the person noticing what I'm wearing on my wrist would appreciate the significance of the watch/movement/complications etc) Like you guys, I love my mechanical watches and I've amassed a few over the years. They are bling in a sense (I don't wear jewellery besides my watches) but also marvellous mechanical machines as well. A very expensive hobby but I do have cheaper ones I like to tinker with- disassembling them and learning how they work. Gentlemen, we wear timepieces, not watches |
