Good point...the AHL controls the adaptive lights. That said, the DME controls the engine so if anything else is recoded Cobb A/P will not affect the replacement part. I have not heard of any issues using the Cobb to override the recent DME update (SW?).

I think with ANY flash tune... you will need to read the new operating system level of the SW and then mod those files. In other words... after having your car's DME software updated you would need to scan that and send it into Cobb (or who ever) and mod those files before you can load a new SW flash onto your car's DME. I do not think you can have your car's SW updated (at the dealer) and then when your back home reload the old Cobb SW flash level(via the Cobb). Once you update your SW there is no going back to the old level. I think thats why you must always upload to Cobb and then download the new mod's file. Make sense? IF I am wrong, please someone feel free to correct me. I don't have a Cobb, just a German flash tune. |

Count yourself lucky IF you never had an SW update. With the latest SW the dealers are doing it really guts the throttle response of our N54 (and N55) engines. This is why so many of us have complained about the added "lag" BMW is "updating" us too. Here is one such thread... all 223 pages worth! Has anyone contacted BMW regarding 29.2 and lag? http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...2#post11257392 |

Maybe they know how to do the update with the WG (waste gate) adaptation activated. This will give you the new SW but it keeps the WG closed more. Its not a good as the original SW but its better than the new SW w/o the WG enabled - when they do the update. |

So I think I'm missing something...I finally got some balls and installed my AP over the Dinan II software.
I'm quite interested in the Stage1 + FMIC map as my FMIC is being installed in 3 weeks. I want to DL the maps, pre-load them on the AP in preparation (nearest BMW dealership is 300 miles / 450 KMs) away. How do I figure out which ECU I have to DL the proper maps? Thanks!! |

When I started the install, AP said that my ECU's already been modified and it can't save the settings...looking for another way to get my ECU type. I did some logs, and loaded the AP files to my mac...wondering if it came over anywhere?!? |

Anyone having any issues with the v401 beta aggressive stage 1 map?
I've had it on my car for 1000 miles and twice I've had a wierd issue with it bogging/misfiring when I load the engine under 1500rpms. It doesn't throw any codes or limp modes but it doesn't feel very good, as If the motor is stuttering or not running on all cylinders. |

I had some shuttering a while back and took it to the dealer. ended up being carbon build up. Much better after them cleaning it out. it only had 34k miles on it. I do have a turbo lag increase after installing 4.01 aggressive that I didn't have before.

It has to be a coincidence, but my cruise control stopped working when I installed my AP. Does that make sense to anyone?
V301 maps, straight DL from Cobb's site using newest firmware...anyone see this or can offer some advise? I even removed the AP (cruise still didn't work) and re-installed it. I did work within a week of me doing the install... Thoughts on a fix or pure coincidence? |

If your cruise control still doesn't work with the AP uninstalled check that your brake/trunk lights are functioning properly. If not, the cruise control may be disabled intentionally until your brake/trunk lights are fixed. It may have been pure coincidence that the lights failed around the same time. Hope this helps. |

I've been running the Sport tune since I installed the AP several months ago, and have been 100% happy with power and driveability. How much power am I leaving on the table by not running the Aggressive tune? Car is otherwise stock and always drinks 93 octane.

If you returned it to the stock flash then it is most likely something other than the AP. Most likely...

+1...take it to the dealer. When I purchased the Cobb AP they had issues with the cruise control. Once I deleted or uninstalled the Cobb AP my cruise control returned. Cobb has since fixed this issue. It must be something other than your Cobb AP. GL
