Non-sports leatherette seat comfort
I'm 6'1" 195, and I drive 180 kms a day, mostly on the highway. Is my butt gonna die in the new E90, or is it as comfortable as my wife's X5 for the long hauls????

I have the same seats and height as you but my problem is that I have a hard time getting out of the car. The door pillar is not far enough for me to pivot my legs from normal driving position to the exterior of the car. My thighs hits the door pillar when stepping out of the car.
I drive about 25-30 miles a day and my butt seems to be fine. However with the non power seats, I have a hard time finding a proper driving position. Since the chair moves diagonally up and down and the steering wheel can't telescope far back enough, I have a hard time adjusting the chair to have proper leg room and a comfortable arm position. Steve I have non sport leatherette seats on my 2006 330i and I find these seats even more comfortable than the leather sports package seats on my old 2002 330xi. I am 6'2" and 190 pounds so I think you should have no problem with these seats.
An added bonus is that I now do not have to worry about the wear on these seats like I had to on the low quality leather sport seats on my 330xi. |

I own a 330 w/ sport package and leatherette, and I am more than happy with the actual seat shape. I'm 6'0" 230lbs. and I find them very comfortable. My mother drives an X5 with a sports package but I think the seats are the same as the standard ones. I find my seats more comfortable than the ones in the X5 and I always found those comfortable.
The only suggestion I can make to you is to do some research on previous posts about the leatherette vs. leather decision. I find it very durable and easy to clean since I'm in construction/architecture, but they do make my back sweat. Although I live in Miami and it's been a very hot summer and I don't have tints, my back still sweats, even at night. I don't know how much better leather will be, but I would suggest doing the research. |

Thanks. I'm a sworn leatherette lover. They are sticky and hold me in place. I'm coming out of a stock 325i. The sport seats mean I have to get the $2800 sport package which I don't want. Crossing my fingers here. I liked the seats a lot in my former 325i, even though they aren't as adjustable as electric seats.
