UK delivery question
Hi,
For those of you that have had a BMW delivered to the UK. Do you know how cars are shipped from the factor to the UK. How long does this usually take? My car finished production last Friday, and I am hoping to pick it up from the dealer on 1 Sep. Regards Mark |

Your dealer can give to an almost exact date at this stage of when your car will arrive at their dealership. Call your salesperson and ask.
Cars made in Germany are shipped from Cuxhaven via car ferry, across the North Sea, to the BMW preparation centre at Immingham. After inspection, they are transported by road to the dealerships. Some cars may also port via Harwich and I believe they are transported by road to the prep-centre at Immingham. Hope this helps. Last edited by carl_d; 08-23-2005 at 07:26 AM.. |

Looks to be on track. The car is now in the UK and being transported from Immigham Docks, due to arrive at Thorne vehicle distribution centre (just outside Doncaster) this morning.

For me it sort of takes some of the shine off buying a new car. I'd love to run a BMW dealership. Although I wouldn't enjoy the pay cut, I'd love to really sort them out (and I'd like trying out different cars every day!!) |
