I've tried WPB and spoke to my service advisor at Pompano (who always tries to look out for me), but I had no luck. Unless the turbo has FAILED, I was told that dealerships don't replace expensive turbos just because there is a little noise. I noticed that you have a 2008. You may be over your timeframe for the warranty as well.

I would contact BMW NA... I bet they would know where a "friendly" dealer is near to where you live.

I would just stop by a dealer and talk to them. Tell them how you know your WG's are rattling and you want them replaced under warranty. Maybe go out and even talk to the tech that will be doing the work. Most techs like Beer. Hint, Hint!

I was told last month that one tech does the wastegates. If they don't pass him they don't get replaced. If the wastegates don't pass BMW NA 'evaluation" and they didn't need to be replaced the bill goes to the customer per my current service writer.I'm giving up I have 81k on the car now.

PS my writer says that they must throw a code too.

Sounds like a bit of BS to me. Yes, every dealership has a warranty rep... and IF BMW calls for the parts and finds them to be ok, then the dealer could end up eating the repair. BUT that is the price of being in Biz. The dealer knows that. Sometimes you make money... sometimes not. But they should NOT be telling customers they MIGHT have to pay for warranty repairs. Total BS.

Again... I would sit down and write an old fashioned letter to BMW NA. Send your letter registered mail - so they know you are serious. I bet they will point you to a friendly dealer.

And ohh... you need a 30ff code thrown... that's easy... just pull off the vacuum hose behind your passenger headlight... then drive around under high boost until you get a ECL.

So, I sent the certified letter stressing my concerns about the wastegate rattle. I explained myself to BMWNA and they took the dealerships side right off the bat. I will try a third dealership then give up. Thanks for your input dackelone and everyone else
