Cracked Valve Cover
Welp, I saw a small oil trickle under my transmission about at around 35,000 miles and I thought it was a weeping main seal, I found the culprit after a thorough inspection last night
35k miles on intake cam cover round about cylinder 3 right under the CCV cover, I recommend you take a look! |

Seems to be a normal problem area. I guess what do we expect out of a plastic valve cover. Maybe BMW's supplier made a bad batch, bc we have seen several members have cracks in the same area. I don't think we will ever know.
Its just one thing we need to check on our cars from time to time.

Has anyone tried grinding out the crack slightly and gluing it up?
Or using some type of oil resistant tape to just cover over the crack? (after you clean it down of course). Steve |

I'm going to try a two part epoxy, I think I'll just see how long it holds up or until a more durable aftermarket replacement hits the market...I really don't feel like spending $400 for the same issue to happen again in another 35k miles
