If you use the "Build your Own" website app, you can't select both the Premium and M Sport packages: both contain special steering wheels, so selecting one de-selects the other.
However, the 135i I am buying off the showroom floor has both packages installed (with the M Sport steering wheel). My problem is that, on the sales contract, both Premium and M Sport packages are listed at full separate package cost. I asked the dealer for an adjustment on the Premium package cost because I am not getting the heated steering wheel which it includes. Dealer said those package costs are set by BMW and dealer cannot adjust them - i.e. the dealer invoice did not include an adjustment on the Premium package cost.
What do you think?

Errowen - Weird, that's not the case here in the US. Heated steering wheel is not included with the premium package.

They don't have to adjust package pricing to adjust the price of your car. I wouldn't care where they take the $, but I would care about paying for something I'm not getting. This is why the "bundles" of packages and items are lucrative for BMW - either you pay for a bunch of crap you don't want, or you pay for something you never use. Or worse, in your case, you pay for something you don't get!

17 days between order and production start? Isn't that a bit long?

Yeah sorry...misread the date of your first post. Still, production starts a month and half after your order. That's unusual, isn't it?

My salesman gave the standard 6 to 8 weeks answer to when I'd get my car. After over a month had passed he said there was a shortage of 35i engines and I was top of the list of cars being built in December. Who knows? This is the first BMW I've ordered. Maybe the dealership didn't have any allocated cars left when I ordered?

My lease is up at the end of this month too. Maybe they'll give me a loaner but I doubt it.

I'm confused - we ordered our cars at pretty much the same time. Mine is at the port and yours is awaiting a limited supply of N55 engines? I find that very hard to believe. I think they took your order and didn't have a specific allocation for the car and have had to wait to put the order in for real.

I see that you keep your cars for long periods of time. Do you intend to do the same with the 135? I drive my cars to the ground and that's the main reason I'm going 128...maybe i'm wrong...

Good question. All I can say is I'm not sure. I will perform the maintenance required to allow my new car to run into the 200ks, as my e30 and first e46 did. I sold my ZHP @ 106k miles and it was set up maintenance wise for a very long time. I sold it because I got the itch for a 1 and because a well maintained ZHP commands a premium on the enthusiast market, a dwindling premium as miles pile up.

That said I don't think we know what type of high mileage engine the n55 will be. Your purchase of a 128i certainly makes more sense based on what we know and how much information we have, I think.

My purchase had more to do with just wanting one than long term plans hahaha.

So I'll do the FULL 1200 mile service and if a future owner reaps the benefits, I'm okay with that. Whether I keep a car for the long run has to do with whether I love driving it or not, so it all remains to be seen.

But honestly I am missing my ZHP!!! Just need the 1 to get here already!
