Funny, I saw exactly the same cars as you. I was there but wasnt lucky enough to see the orange 1M.
I did however see the new 1 series hatch in disguise and the the M5 on the roads. Was able to snap a pic of the 1 series, but the M5 was just too fast. Ill have to post pics when I have time, just got from Munich 2 nights ago.

Not as nice as fire or inka orange imho.
Still nice, but the other two are break neck head turners. I think the flat colours pop that little bit more than the metallics. I know cause I have a few!!

Evergreen is truly a unique color. I believe I have only seen one evergreen M roadster on the road before. So rare, at least over here in the States.

I've see Valencia Orange in person at Detroit. I own a BSM 135i. VO looks very cool in person, but I'd still take a black 1M. OP, thanks for the pics.

The color is less metallic and slightly darker than I was expecting. It trends to a track car look. I can't think of any other orange by any manufacturer that is a close match. It's unique. |

Still love the descreet look of BSM, but must say I'm not sure why BMW didn't use a more exclusive black on an ///M car?
Jerez Black, Carbon Black or even Azurite Black (Individual)....... |

I think it is because Leipzig can only do "some" colors and not all in the BMW color pallete. When I toured BMW factory in Munich last month... the guide there said BMW will be using a 3er (series) type of paint system (sprayed liquid)instead of the powered based paints that Leipzig curently use. The guide said it is because the 3er's paint system yields a thicker (base)paint - it is better for long run durability. She basically confirmed what some have been saying over here - that the 1er's paint is pretty thin. Dackel |

The guide thought this would be for the next 1er (F20) model - not yet in production. This is probably at least one year out from now. Last edited by Dackelone; 03-29-2011 at 02:27 PM.. |
