Nope. I inquired on it, was told it was sold (to be picked up on July 2 or so), and then found mine privately with only 8,300km, which I picked up on July 12.

A note on the Lexus of Edmonton car...it may indeed be back up for sale, as I received an email from them yesterday stating that it was again available. Seems that the salesman who bought it backed out. I happily told them that I found one with half the mileage for less.

One of 219 at max, as one in Calgary was flooded and written off.

This has got to be the most depressing loss of a 1M yet. Hopefully the salvage gets turned into a dedicated track car.

Artemis,
thanks for replying with pics as I am a newb. I recently painted this 1Ms wheels graphite inspired by pics of yours. Great color combo. Cheers. Steve |

To post pictures, it's easy to upload. Most regular picture size is 1024x768. Sequence: Click the "Go Advanced" button at the bottom of the message - click on the paperclip icon - browse for the pictures you'd like to post - click the "Upload" button - wait until the upload is finished (browse names disappear) - click the paperclip icon again to choose the order of the pictures in your message - eventually click the "Preview Post" button at the bottom of the message to check if the layout is okay before you hit the "Submit Reply" button. Piece of cake.

I did not have to replace (most of) the motor. The hard parts were excellent but everything electrical and most seals were replaced. Same with the rest of the car -lots of clean, inspect and lubricate.
Apparently, someone took to the spark plugs out, turned the motor over and put oil in the cylinders and filled the crankcase shortly after the swim. I'm dying to know how many miles were on this car. There was a significant build up of carbon and sludge on the intake valves even for a direct injection engine. Considering the tires, brakes, clutch and other wear components would only suggest this car had 8-12K miles on it. A catch can and RB PCV valve will definitely be going in. |

Maybe $.50. The engine start button is still in a box. The turbos were scrap and two bores were rusted. etc.
I expected the worse and got a little better than that. There needs to be several very good reasons to rebuild a salvage / flood car, none of which are financial. If this 1M wasn't exactly the platform I wanted to build on, it wouldn't have deserved a second look. |

Thanks, Ender. I may attempt a build thread in the coming weeks. It will be quite a process. For a simple drivers car, it sure has a hell of a lot of wiring.
