turbos gone at 10,000 miles
Some advice please guys, my 1m 10,000 miles on clock, has been throwing 30ff for the last 18 months, and slowly getting worse, been to a load of top guys but they are not sure of the problem, so i decided to upgrade most of the plastic parts to eliminate those bits, i.e. divert-er valves, inter-cooler, charge pipe, hoses, done the usual as well, cat-less 3" DP,S , resonated Berk mid pipes, and a DMS remap , but still throwing 30ff code when under full load in 5 th or 6th gear, reading through all the forums , i have come to my own conclusion that the i have dodgy turbos , waste gate problem, they cannot hold boost as they are too weak so throws the code and into limp mode, how annoying when some twat in a golf gti, no offence guys, i owned one and loved it, over takes you, and you know if you squeeze that throttle too much , she will drop straight into limp mode, then you have to pull over, switch the engine off, wait 30 seconds and restart it to carry on, so time has come to buy some turbos, may as well buy upgraded turbos as i should think will help my tune, not fussed on going all out as my days for full on are long gone, well i hope so, can any body give me solid advice on how to go about this, where to buy the turbos, best price for reputable turbos, any pit falls, i would like to drive the car to the tuner/bmw specialist etc. them to supply and fit, as it looks a bitch of a job to do, can not see any other way than , take down the sub frame to get at the turbos, still not sure if this is possible, or to take the engine out, either way, my eyes are shot , cant even see what size the spanners are now, no not the numbers, the size of the gap between the jaws, so this job is beyond me, no lift either, i am living in France now, but could easily drive to the U.K. at a drop, any body know a reputable tuning shop that could take this on, would be much appreciated guys,,,,,,

Pure turbos seem to be the most reputable company, However the new GC Lite turbos are my favorite option. They have much quicker spool then stock and can support tons of power Ive heard

Have you checked the installation of the aftermarket downpipes? If the vband clamps aren't oriented correctly they can block the wastegate arm and cause exactly the symptoms you describe.
I don't beleive stock turbos would crap out at that kind of mileage.

Have you checked any of the vacuum lines that run over the valve cover? How about the ones than run to the vacuum canisters? Use soapy water to spray at the attachment point to check for leaks.
