Great collection of vids! Keep up the good work!

I'm curious to know whether or not the C Quartz coating improved the maintenance/cleaning of the wheels. Is it as easy as hosing them off with pressure, or does it still involve a bit of elbow grease?

thanks for kind words!

It is extremely easy to clean the wheels, usually i just hose them off and can clean 95% of the brake dust / dirt off them with water alone and without much pressure.

to get it 100% however I still use a wheel cleaner (favorite one is griots) and a brush to agitate it, then just wash it off with either a hose or a pressure washer if I have it out like when i'm washing my whole car.

Ill probably make a video on it at some point, ill let the wheels collect some brake dust to show even better

Today was dyno day! I went to a local shop named EFI performance that was very cool and I had a great time. They had some really good LS stuff in there, most notable was a C6 grand sport with 345 nitto NT05R tires. yes, 345's. just looking at it was badass and the shop worker didn't want to discuss details on the build but said it's north of 800hp and still battles traction.

anyways, my car put down 380/421 to the wheels and sounded great doing it thanks to the BMR exhaust. Here is a link to the video:

Congrats man. Throw some E85 in there and you'll see 400whp!

I wish but there is no e85 near me! it drives me crazy haha. Im gonna focus on handling stuff now with Koni shocks, eibach springs, dinan camber plates, and then some aesthetic stuff like black lines and front splitter.

Ill make some more power after that with Inlets, custom tuning, and more octane (methanol or ethanol)

380/421 is no slouch on pump gas. Bet that feels great! I need to make it a priority to get mine on a dyno soon.

Thanks man, Im very happy with the car. even though its only 380whp she pulls extremely hard, especially because its making 400+ wtq as early as 2.8K RPM. and that wouldnt be a bad idea! Id love to see what you can get out of the stockers. maybe 450+/500+ like suspenceful ? that would be awesome to see! I def want to get my car up there someday.

For anyone interested here is an attached pic of the dyno graph, showing how soon and how hard the torque comes on!

After my dyno day, its time to start a new stage in my build. Im going to be focusing on mods that help the appearance of the car look more aggressive while keeping it look clean. Also I will be focusing on mods that enhance the driving experience for my car as a daily driver. Some mods I will be doing in the month of july are:

-Wheel stud conversion
-Front lip
-Sideskirts
-Blacklines
-Lux H8
-Aluminum pedals
-Short shifter

On my youtube channel I am starting a new series with these mods called "Clean Mods" Here is episode 1!

Big news to those of you following this thread, or my youtube channel, today I sold my gopro and all my accessories and am currently upgrading to a much nicer camera! Look out for much higher quality videos and audio from now on!

Before I sold my gopro I wanted to get one video of the speedo during a pull, because I know my next camera will be too big to mount by the steering wheel.

Here is a 60 roll in 3rd gear at WOT, would have gone longer but had to stop due to traffic

Its been a hot minute since my last update! I recently made some DIY side skirts to my car from ABS plastic. They came out really well all in all, but due to some silly mistakes in cutting, I had to mount them and paint them upside down so the finish is a bit weird (the weird bottom side of ABS plastic) I will probably re-do it at some point with the proper side up and painted. As always, here is the video!

I also installed am Ikon Motorsports front lip which goes hand in hand with the sideskirts. I bought it off a local 1addict for only 70$ so it was a steal! I paint matched it as well with leftover supplies from the sideskirts, and it came out amazing, partially because I was actually painting the right side of the plastic lol. Here is the video:

While bored this week waiting on new parts, I decided to give my car a lengthy detail to kill some time. I did a usual foam wash with 2 bucket method, but also brought the car inside my parents garage to clay bar, glaze, and wax. Im extremely satisfied with how everything turned out, my car has never looked this good. The glaze does a really good job of filling imperfections in the paint such as minor swirls and I was surprised at how good it looks.

Some parts to come for my car very soon are:
-EBC Ultimax Slotted rotors - front and rear
-EBC Redstuff ceramic pads
-Smoked black side markers
-gloss black "135i" letters
-LUX headlights
-Re-do of my sideskirts

Here is the video of my Detail as well as some pictures I captured with my new camera, still working on my photography skills. Im quite the noob at pictures!

Brakes came in! They were a huge pain in the ass to install. Nothing about the EBC slotted rotors in particular or the pads was what made it hard, but it you havent done the brakes yet on the 135i I found it super difficult because:
1) all 4 of my rotor set screws were stripped (3 by PO, 1 by me :/)
2.) all 4 rotors were super rust-welded onto the hub, took like a million bangs with a sledgehammer to finally get them off
3.) the rear rotors were extremely hard to get off with the parking brake, very time consuming!

All in all I am very happy with the rotors and pads. I love the way they look and feel. BUT, if i could go back in time, and knowing for next time I need work on my brakes, I probably would have paid a shop to do the work assuming I could get a reasonable quote. Heres the video!

Also, I snapped this shot while out for a spirited ride through some country roads. Easily my favorite photo of my car Ive ever taken, and a cool looking shop too!

This weekend I went to VA wannaGOFAST 1/2 mile race! It was one of the best days ive had this summer! I saw Motiv Motorsport their with the crazy widebody e82 track car, and their 870whp e90! Both cars were rocking their bottom mount single turbo kits!

Also, I met Mike from Street Speed 717 (youtuber with over 500,000 subscribers) and Rob Ferretti (youtuber with over 600,000 subscribers) They were both incredibly chill to talk to in person and hang out with. Mike went 160mph on a 1,000whp stock blower C7 Z06 (with 150 shot of nitrous) and Rob went 151mph on his turbo C5 corvette!

Their was crazy builds on countless amounts of cars including corvettes, vipers, lambos, cadillacs, and even quite a few N54 cars which made me happy. Suddenly, 400whp seemed like nothing and a few thousand dollars into your build wasn't even breaking a sweat compared to what the guys out here had.

The most notable car of the day in my opinion was a widebody N54 e90 335i stripped down to 2,700 pounds WITH the DRIVER AND FUEL. It had tons of carbon fiber including a moonroof delete and it wore 315 wide r888r's in the back and 285 wide r888r's in the front! It was a bottom mount motiv single turbo setup, It went 155 just on wastegate pressure alone (17psi), without any real boost dialed in. The owner will be going for the N54 stock motor 1/2 world record next time he does a 1/2 mile event!

I know this isnt related to my car build, But I wanted to share this content here because it gives me a good idea of the direction I want to take on my car eventually, which is a single turbo set up!! Don't want to jump the gun, it will be atleast a year before I do anything like this with my car IF i even do it, but man the more I think about it the more I want to do a single turbo!

I'd be lying if I said the two NFZ 1/2 mile events I raced in didn't influence me to shoot for 700whp. Those events are awesome and very addicting. It's a slippery slope!

Hell yeah, the 1/2 mile is now my favorite kind of racing event after going to the wannagofast! Just out of curiosity, what did your car trap on the old stock turbo FBO + Inlets + e85 blend set up in the 1/2 mile?

Any plans to race your car or make any 1/2 mile passes with it at 700whp soon? congrats on everything going so well, Those mmp stage 3's look like an amazing choice for upgraded twins! If i decide to truly go for a turbo upgrade it will be a tough call between those or a single

It's also my favorite kind of straight-line racing. 1/4 mile is all about your launch, and these N54 cars really shine up top anyways.

My best trap from a deep launch/roll was 156.79mph last spring.

I'm signing up for NFZ's 1/2 mile event again this October and should have the car dialed in at 650whp+ by then. I'm trying to get rid of some timing corrections right now.

Havent been doing anything worthy of adding to this build thread lately with my car, I anticipate I'll be done with my build for now with the exception of a few more parts. The videos will always continue though!

I plan to do Koni yellow shocks with eibach springs and dinan camber plates to address my suspension, and then hopefully an RTD shifter. Both those items will be fairly expensive and are parts Ive always wanted since I got my car, So it will be great fun.

Make sure to look out for the videos on them, but in the meantime here is a quick DIY on how to use the MHD exhaust burble option for the N54. My preferred settings are "soft" with a 1.0 second duration. It sounds super mean with the BMR 3.5" exhaust and VRSF catless downpipes!
