Anyone in Romania

Hi, I will be in a business trip in Romania in November, any chance the Transfagarasan would still be open by then?

Also, do you guys know any place to hire a fun car? I can see Bravaria Rent, is there anywhere else?

Do you think it is ideal to hire a X car, or any sedan should be okay on Romanian roads?

I was near Transfăgărășan in the town of Sibiu and in May the road was closed due to snow...not sure about Nov.

I rented a small wagon and it was great fun...make sure you drive down to Dracula's castle or rather Bran Castle near the town of Bran...really cool site and visit.

You'll love Romania if you are adventure-minded...I've been there three times and had a great time each time...Constanta is really nice also.

I am romanian in Romania and can confirm that transfagarasan is closed from 1 October (if not earlier in September) until the beginning of June. You can drive on it ,on either the south side or the north side from Sibiu , but at the Capra tunnel where the peak of the mountain is, it is closed with big metal gates and most likely the road until that tunel , on either the south or the north side will be covered with big snow blocks.
You should get an x model if you try the road anyway and please let me know when you go there. I live in Pitesti and it is on the way from Bucharest to Transfagarasan on the south side.

I am at Sibiu right now, and will be off to Brasov. Visiting all the castles .

Cool!what type of BMW did You rent?

Looks like You ll be getting some Snow . Don't wonder Off too far though. Big trafic jams in the weekend if it snows.
Wish I would visit Bran this weekend but it is not likely.
