that really does look great. Gives the rear end more character. Our stock tails make our butts look so sad.

I really can't stress enough how nice the LCI lights are in person. I don't have the blacklines, but installed the US OE ones on my 08, and they're incredible. The fade in/fade out feature when you lock/unlock the car gets good comments from even the most hardened car mod guys. At night, they just look incredible and no picture really captures how nice they look.

They look great on your car. Thanks for posting the size of the socket to use. It made my install that much faster this evening.

I did read the other blackline LCI taillights on other threads, but I have a few questions for anyone just to make sure and confirm:
1. "Blackline" LCI taillights are OPTIONAL only in Europe (stock is Not blackline). Not allowed and I might get a ticket in the US. Is this correct? 2. I've heard installation is super easy but I have a 2008 128i Convertible without xenon headlights. Is it just PnP or do I need to code? 3. Is ordering from schmiedmann pretty much the best and only safe option? Thanks in advance! |

-Ofcourse, since I do have xenon on my car, the blackline lights for xenon fitted 1ers are more expensive. Answer question 3: I personally feel that schmiedmann is the safest alternative. But I've checked out ebay.de/co.uk and many of the sellers looks legit. Have fun. |

I think you'd have to say awful things about a cops mother though for them to go all the way and check for that seal. Especially since they are OEM and not aftermarket. |

OP, thanks for the DIY on changing the tail lights. I installed my new LCI (non blackline) tail lights last night. I took my time and it only took me about 30 minutes to change both of them.
